Landscape Installation Crew Foreman
The landscape crew foreman is an experienced landscaper leading a crew in the installation of landscape projects such as natural stone, plant installation, and plant maintenance. The position works as a member of the team and directs the activities of two or more team members at a job site. The landscape foreman will communicate with the landscape designer and project manager on all details pertaining to the project’s installation. The landscape crew foreman is able to operate a variety of equipment and has a working knowledge of landscape and horticultural practices.
Responsibilities
- Read landscape designs and implement the landscape installation plan
- Operates a variety of mechanical equipment
- Operates truck and trailer combination
- Routinely interacts with customers
- Fill out proper paper work documenting projects
- Job site planning and organization
- Manages a team of two or more crew members
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment
- Communicate job site status with supervisor
Knowledge and Experience
- High school degree or GED
- At least one year experience in the landscaping field
- Leadership skills
- Have a working knowledge of standard horticultural practices
- Have a working knowledge of standard construction practices
- Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, and job planning skills
You must have a valid driver’s license and a clean record.

The landscape crew member will work with a variety of hand and power tools for the installation and maintenance of landscape materials.

- Learn and practice the use of industry equipment
- Take instruction from crew foreman and project manager
- Operates truck and trailer combination
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. without assistance
- Have full range of motion in upper and lower body
- Show a desire to learn the industry and progress with Forest Green
- Learn and practice a safe work environment
- Communicate clearly with crew members and supervisors

- High school degree or GED.

Mowing Team Member
Reports To: Team Leader
Position Overview
This position performs a variety of landscape activities, such as planting, weeding, digging, spreading topsoil and other materials, general lawn maintenance, seasonal lawn preparation. The team members operate lawn mowers and related equipment such as blowers, weed eaters, edgers, hedge trimmers, and other related tools.
Essential Responsibilities
- Performs planting and related activities.
- Performs routine lawn maintenance including grass cutting, lawn edging, weed pulling, and other routine lawn-maintenance activities. Uses lawn mower and related equipment.
- Provides seasonal lawn care, such as spring and fall leaf clean-up.
- Moves materials and equipment and performs related duties to assist in landscaping and hardscaping if needed.
- Digs holes and trenches and excavates for hardscaping features using picks and shovels or related equipment if needed.
- Hauls or spreads topsoil, gravel, sand, mulch, or related materials using wheelbarrows and rakes, if needed.
- Hand-finishes grade, and apply seed, straw, or sod.
- Performs routine construction tasks, such as building forms for concrete using hand tools, if needed.
- Maintains assigned equipment and notifies the team leader of needed repairs.
- Responds politely to client inquiries and projects a professional image.
Team Member 2
Job Description
- Reports to work at the required time and performs duties as assigned by the team leader.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including the work site and equipment.
- Loads equipment and materials on and off trucks and trailers.
Knowledge and Experience
- A high school degree or GED is preferred. Experience in the landscaping field is also preferable.
- Candidate must be able to read and write.

Applicator
Reports To: Fertilization Team Division Head
Position Overview
The applicator will service lawns of a predetermined route of clients. This position supervises one employee, possibly more, and may be called upon to provide specific horticultural information to assist other team leaders or management. The applicator is able to operate a variety of equipment and has a working knowledge of lawns, diseases, and the working knowledge of grasses.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plans and organizes the day’s route, ensuring that sufficient resources and materials are available, and completes it in the most time-efficient manner.
- Performs a wide variety lawns optimal level of plant health, including weed control, certain perennial cultural practices, pruning, pest treatments, and other routine lawn-care activities.
- Insures that competing tasks at each client are organized and completed on a priority basis and within the parameters established for the account. Considers improvements to accounts and makes recommendations to management.
- Diagnoses pest issues, make recommendations, and/or takes remedial action as directed by standard company policy or management. Diagnoses other site problems and makes recommendations for their improvement.
Job Description
- Operates non-CDL automatic and stick shift vehicles, such trucks, vans, and trailers.
- Completes the necessary paperwork, including time sheets, work orders, and client
tickets.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment, including work site and equipment.
- Manages a team of one or more employees, including handling personnel issues onsite and training employees on policies and procedures.
- Interacts with clients routinely answering questions and assuring client satisfaction.
- Communicates clients concerns to management.
- Applies chemicals as a licensed custom applicator.
- Maintains assigned equipment and notifies mechanic of needed repairs.
- Helps with snow removal during the winter months.
Knowledge and Experience
- This position requires a high school degree or GED, plus one year’s experience in a landscaping or hardscaping field.
- Candidate must be able to read and write.
- The successful individual will have a working knowledge of standard horticultural.
- Strong oral communication skills, job planning skills, and mechanical aptitude are a must.
- Ability to operate a truck and trailer combination proficiently.
Certifications
This position requires that the individual be certified and licensed as follows:
- Pesticide certification
- Driver’s License (Nebraska) and insurable with company’s agent
